For cows: magnesium oxide fertilizer

Adding 50-90 grams of magnesium oxide or 0.5% of the amount of concentrate to the dairy cow's diet can not only supplement the lack of magnesium in the diet to prevent the occurrence of magnesium deficiency, but also is an excellent rumen buffer. Rumen fermentation, and can increase the absorption of milk synthesis precursors by the mammary gland, improve milk production and milk fat rate.

According to relevant reports, adding 0.5% magnesium oxide to dairy cattle concentrate supplements can increase milk yield by 1.6 kg on average, increase milk fat rate by 0.145 percentage points, and help increase feed intake.

For poultry:  

According to the experimen growth rate of broilers was reduced by 80% when fed a diet containing 200 ppm of magnesium compared with a diet containing 600 ppm of magnesium.
